DISTYNCT
Internet Marketing
Just because you have a website doesn't mean anyone will visit it. There are two very "distinct" (or should we say "Distynct") purposes of a website.
► To have a place for prospective customers to go to find out more about your company, products or services, when you hand them a business card or they see your website address on some other form of marketing
► To be "found" exclusively on the internet via search engines (google, bing, etc.).
These two purposes require very different content. To be "found" by the search engines in today's internet is not an easy task. If you're not on the first page of the search engine results, you're probably not going to get much traffic. So here's what you need to do in a nutshell.
1) Be very specific in your choice
of keywords. Google has a nice keyword analysis tool
here.
2) If at all possible, purchase the domain with your keywords in it.
For example, if you're selling fresh earthworms, you might purchase
freshearthworms.com or fresh-earthworms.com. Don't forget about
the hyphen option. It's a great way to get very specific keywords
in your URL. You can search for domain names
here.
3) Use the desired keywords in the folder and/or page name. For
example, this page is about internet marketing, and so the folder name
under Distynct.com is internet-marketing.
4) Make sure your meta tag titles, descriptions and keywords are very specific. The more ambiguity, the less change of getting ranked high.
These simple steps are critical, but often overlooked, especially by folks who are building their own websites.
Distynct Solutions can help your
company or product get the exposure it needs.
